Conference Transcription

Conference Transcription has gained quite popularity. Conferences could be categorized broadly under two segments; one that are scholastic by nature and are therefore referred to as academic conferences. The other kind of conference is the business meetings that are held through three/multi-way conference calls. While the former can accommodate direct recording, the second kind need the entire telephonic conversation to be recorded. Due to the separate natures of the two kinds of conferences, the recording device used will also have to be different. For instance, the conference call recording will need to have more clarity since there is a possibility of overlapping voices and in academic conferences, the background noise will require to be cancelled out.

Recording and transcription of these audio files into text is a good idea, because it serves as a helpful resource to people. During a conference, even a moment’s distraction could lead a person to lose the track of conversation or discussion. Certain points which might be of importance could be missed out on and this could make the subsequent dialogue hard to follow. Also, the information when published can also help in stimulating the engagement of people to participate in post-conference activities! The ideas of the conference could also reach a wider audience, not only as a pamphlet but also since they are posted online as documents.
