Conference transcription

Conference transcription means transcribing discussion that happen during a conference. The entire session is recorded in audio or video format, which is then transcribed into written word documents.

The process of transcribing a conference is crucial, because it guarantees complete replication of the conference. There are no chances of missing out important details if the entire conference is recorded, and then converted into notes. If only the audio copies are kept for records, there is an underlying risk of the file being corrupted, which would further eliminate any chances of retrieving the material.

Secondly, conference transcription saves the expenses of hiring a person to conduct the noting down the entire session. This also ensures saving time, which the individual may devote to some other work.

The quality of the digital transcription will depend on a few factors.

The first point is the quality of recording. Proper identification of the speakers and audience whenever they are commenting or asking questions is also important. Finally, the transcriptionist should give a separate microphone to the audience to avoid confusions.
