Getting Your Baby To Co-Operate With A Baby Nebulizer

When kids have respiratory infections or asthma, it is not easy to treat them. The younger the child, the more difficult it will be. Young babies may not co-operate; they get scared of noisy machines making them cry all the more and this renders the medication useless. Most young babies will cry when they are sick, making situation so worse that it will warrant the use of a baby nebulizer. These should be used only according to the instructions of the pediatrician. You can use a mask so that it covers the baby’s mouth and nose. This mask will ensure that the full dosage gets into the baby’s lungs. When the baby suffers through breathing problems it is difficult to administer the machine, but unless it is done the baby is only going to suffer more and more. Unless the baby is calm enough, you cant get full effect of the medicine. It should be actively inhaled and can be done only with the full co-operation of the baby. You can distract him with his favorite toys or music before starting on the medication. If you are his favorite parent, then let him be in your arms while the medication is administered.
