5. The most common form of interruption will come in the form of pagers and mobile phones. Encourage the members to switch these off, so that there is absolutely no interruption. The sound of the phone could drown out a speaker’s voice completely and the purpose of recording will be lost.

6. Digital recording is the best format of capturing the discussion of a focus group. But the microphone will be so sensitive that it catches even the smallest of noise.
