Portable Nebulizer Machine

A portable nebulizer machine is a small compressor unit, which transforms asthma medications into a mist, so that it is directly transferred to the lungs through inhaling. These nebulizers treat asthma and other severe or mild respiratory disorders. In fact, if inhaled on time, they can save a life.

As the name implies, portable nebulizers can be carried wherever you go and the user does not have to run the risk of not getting the inhaler when he needs it urgently. Thus, it lessens the risk of any unpleasant situation when the user is out of home.

It is not rocket science to use a portable nebulizer, but a few simple tips will assist you in being able to use the nebulizer easily. In this article, we will give you some useful and important tips on how to use the portable nebulizer.

The first thing you have to do is place the Omron portable nebulizer or compressor on a table, or any other sturdy flat surface, like the floor etc., where you can reach the machine without much strain.

The second step is to assemble the nebulizer parts properly. Take great care when attaching the clean tubing and mouthpiece to the intake valve and then, attach the medicine cup to the other end of the tubing. You should be able to do this perfectly in order to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.

The following step is to read the doctor’s instructions on dosage of the liquid medication. Understand the dosage prescribed, take a clean nebulizer cup and pour the correct quantity of medication as instructed by the doctor into the cup.

After pouring the entire liquid medicine into the nebulizer cup, you must turn on the nebulizer. With the machine on, now check if there is a mist being emitted from the cup.

If satisfied that the mist is being emitted, seat yourself in a comfortable upright position and place the mouthpiece or the portable nebulizer mask on your mouth. Then close your lips and breathe normally.

Continue breathing in the same manner, until the entire medication in mist form is gone.

Though adults can handle a mouthpiece easily to inhale the medicine, for children and infants with asthma and COPD-related problems, the use of a nebulizer mask with the pediatric nebulizer machine is highly recommended. Simply position the mask over the child’s face and then secure it with a strap behind his head. The chills can now inhale the medicine, and it the mask will not fall off, even if the child tends to move his face during the treatment.
